TAP lab is Te Atatū’s community makerspace. Based upstairs in the Te Atatū Peninsula Community Centre we provide a safe, collaborative community space to make, create, and connect. We host a range of fabrication equipment including 3D Printers, a Laser Cutter, Embroidery Machine, Vinyl Cutter, CNC Router, Sewing machines and more, all of which is available for the community to learn how to use.
We are a registered charity, so all our equipment is free to use, or priced at the cost of consumables in order to help keep everything accessible. At our weekly open sessions you can come along with your ideas and projects, and we can teach you how to use some of our equipment. We host a full weekly programme of general making sessions, youth focused sessions, STEaM classes, and co-working. For those who want more making in their lives, membership is also an option to get 24/7 access to all our equipment!
You can find out more about TAP lab on our website: https://taplab.nz, you can also view a list of our regular public sessions https://taplab.nz/whats-on or our one-off programmes and workshops.
If you just want some inspiration, our Instagram https://instagram.com/taplabmakers or Facebook page https://facebook.com/TAPlab.nz are frequently updated with people’s latest projects. If you want to find our more, you can come along to one of our (free) open maker sessions, or email our team at kiaora@taplab.nz.
